'Inspirational messages to refresh the spirit and boost the emotional bank account'
You Are Worth It!
Do not undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others. It is because we are different that each of us is special.
Do not set your goals by what other people deem important. Only you know what is best for you.
Do not take for granted the things closest to your heart. Cling to them as you would your life, for without them, life is meaningless.
Do not let your life slip through your fingers by living in the past nor for the future. By living your life one day at a time, you live all the days of your life.
Do not give up when you still have something to give. Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying. It is a fragile thread that binds us to each other.
Do not be afraid to encounter risks. It is by taking chances; that we learn how to be brave.
Do not shut love out of your life by saying it is impossible to find. The quickest way to receive love is to give love; the fastest way to lose love is to hold it too tightly.
Do not dismiss your dreams. To be without dreams is to be without hope; to be without hope is to be without purpose.
Do not run through life so fast that you forget not only where you have been, but also where you are going. Life is not a race, but a journey to be savoured each step of the way.

A Short but Loving Life
Goldie was a ten year old dog and had been the family pet since she was just six weeks old, now she was very sick and in a lot of pain and could hardly walk.
The vet suggested that Goldie should be put out of her misery and offered to make a house call. The parents decided it would be best to go ahead and felt that it would be better for Goldie to die at home where she was loved. The parents explained to their young son, Kevin, what was going to take place when the vet visited. They told him that it was sad that dogs are with us for such a short time.
The vet came and administered the injection and Goldie passed away peacefully with her family at her side. Kevin petted Goldie the entire time. He seemed to take it very well and actually smiled when the vet told them it was over. His parents were very sad and worried about how Kevin was going to react.
Kevin noticed his parents tears, took their hands and told them, 'It's okay Mommy and Daddy. You see, when we're put on earth and it is our job to learn to love everyone. Sometimes it takes people a long time, but dogs are born loving everyone, so dogs don't have to be here as long as us.'

How Many Friends Have You?
An old man turned to me and asked, 'How many friends have you?'
'Why, ten or twenty friends have I,' and I named off just a few.
He smiled a knowing smile at me and sadly shook his head,
'How lucky you must be to have so many friends,' he said.
'But think of what you're saying. There's so much that you don't know!
A friend is just not someone to whom you say 'Hello'!
A friend's a tender shoulder on which to softly cry,
A well to pour your troubles down and raise your spirits high.
A friend's a hand to pull you up from darkness and despair,
When all your other so-called 'friends' have helped to put you there!
A true friend is an ally who can't be moved or bought,
A voice to keep your name alive when others have forgot.
But most of all a friend's a heart, a strong and sturdy wall,
For from the hearts of friends there comes the greatest love of all!
So think of what I've spoken, for every word is true.
And answer once again, my child, how many friends have you?
And then he stood and faced me, awaiting my reply.
I smiled at him and answered, 'At least one friend have I!'
Thank you for being my friend!
